OUR "OTHER" MINIATURES!

Here is "Droopy" when we first got him.  This poor mini Donkey could barely walk.  We could tell someone had just chopped off his toes to make his poor feet look better  and he had the number 33 shaved into his side so when he came thru the auction block and they said his name was 33 I couldn't hold myself back.  Droopy came home with us that day!

It didn't take us long to give him a name.  His left ear must have been broken or froze at one time and the tip droops so that is how he got his name Droopy.  He is still a very shy Donkey but within a year with corrective trimming and proper nutrition this guy can run again and kick up his heals.  We have no idea how old he is but with vet estimate we are saying he was born in 1987. One thing for sure is he'll live his life out (no matter how long it may be) Happy.  Besides  Richard said he always wanted a Donkey so now he's got one!

We had the Pro photographer out and how could we not take a picture of Richard and his Donkey!

Every year since I bought Droopy I clip him in the spring.  He just does not shed out.  So this year was no exception.  On June 3, 2006 I gave him his yearly clip and iodine bath that follows and I sat out on the lawn with him while he dried.  Jenni snapped a photo of Droopy, I and Breezy so had to add that too.  Then when Jenni took him back down to the mini herd it was like he was hiding with the grass being so long and then decided to show himself so I took a couple more pictures.  Enjoy!

Then in September of 2006 we heard the plight of a past friend.  A young girl wanted a companion for her horse and got this donkey to keep her horse company. Well her horse beat the stuffings out of him and we were asked if we could give him a good home.  Well, we always had said if this guy became available we would take him in a heart beat and well...  Here's ERNIE  he too is an Elderly Donkey.  With the vets help we figure he was born around 1985.  He too is in his forever home now and LOVED!

He is rather thin right now and quite sore.  But, each day shows he's getting better and better.

That's it for the "other" mini's for now.  Hey anyone who knows me they know I can't say no if an animal is in need of help.  Hope your enjoying looking at this all as much as I am in making it.  Have a wonderful day now!

Ernie had his picture taken professionally too June 18, 2007

I had shaved Ernie with the help of my young friend Nicole.  We went thru over 10 blades as they kept gumming up from the filth!  Needless to say he doesn't have that anymore either!  Here is another pic I took of him too :)

Ernie is now up to date on shots and regular worming and farrier schedule.  This guy should be with us quite awhile :)
